Guest Reviews

A big heartfelt thank you to you, Claudia! The beautiful and private home is surrounded by natural gardens and peace and serenity. Monkeys were in the trees in front of the house, and beautiful birds and butterflies, and hummingbirds added to the beautiful scenery. There were ripe oranges hanging from a nearby tree, along with a star fruit tree, and a water apple tree. The scent of the ylang, ylang tree was incredible!

We were delighted that it was a short walk to an exquisite beach which we walked easily to every day. The night sounds in the evening were absolutely beautiful. We had our coffee every morning on the private porch watching a beautiful sunrise. Thank you Claudia for a stay in your beautiful home , and being a kind, thoughtful and gracious host.

Arriving at El Chante on a Friday night in pitch black, we were still so excited to walk in and see the inside of our new home for the next couple weeks. We absolutely fell in love with the cottage's charm and inviting feeling. You can tell that Claudia used her stellar creativity to make this place more than just a rental- we wanted to stay here forever!

Waking up to the sound of roosters and howler monkeys to get you to start your day early before the sun gets hot reminds you that this truly is the "Pura Vida" life of Costa Rica.

The home is fully equipped with blender, coffee maker, and all the other essentials you'll need to stay comfortably. The water is fed by spring from the Cabo Blanco nature reserve, and is packed with minerals to keep you hydrated. The abundance of fruit trees will also keep you cool as we feasted on manzanilla de agua (water apple, right by the back porch), Limon, ( a lime/lemon hybrid that's like nothing you've ever tasted before), starfruit, and coconut were all in season during our stay. There was a young guanabana tree there, as well, which was sad that it had not bore fruit yet! We quickly learned that the guanabana was our new favorite fruit.

The view from each porch provides an array of stunning beauty - from the variegated squirrels in the front, to the cows in the back, it's never a dull moment. We ventured to the Super David and Super Chicho stores to get food and supplies - they have mostly anything you need there. The cemetery island was absolutely beautiful, and the panaderia at the end of the street makes the best casado I've had so far!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at El Chante, and Claudia was amazing. She did everything she could to make sure our stay was comfortable - the kitchen sink broke, and although we had a laundry sink and BBQ sink, she came by the same day to replace it! She also checked up on us via phone after our first full day to see if we needed anything. We also visited her gallery, and took one of her beautiful pieces home. You can tell that Claudia puts so much into her work and her rental home, and we are so appreciative of her hospitality.
