About me:

I love nature and animals which was what brought me from Germany to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, in 2000. This was long before travel blogs and the big global portals came up. You hardly found any information on the internet about the Peninsula de Nicoya. It was truly a “hidden gem”. So my idea to write this guide for tourists was born. The Nicoya Peninsula travel guide was first published in March 2002 and since then has been continually updated and enlarged.

My travel website is the perfect addition to my work as a web designer. It provides me a welcome opportunity to leave my desk from time to time to make updates and new pictures for my travel guide and to meet old and new friends.

I also work as a tour guide for Traveldesign (Germany) and ARR Reisen (Austria) who organize Costa Rica journeys in small groups to hidden treasures off the beaten path. With a focus on nature and photography these adventurous tours provide authentic and unique insights of Costa Rica – this beautiful, small-sized country which accounts for such an amazing number of superlativs.

For your travel preparations for the Nicoya Peninsula I hope you enjoy the virtual journey on my website and I hope you enjoy even more your  real  journey once when you come to visit Costa Rica!

Pura vida!
